Ella Kenyon
DEATH OF ELLA KENYON.
Not for months has the Monitor been called upon to chronicle a death more sad than that of
Ella Kenyon, which occurred at her mother's home in this city on the eighth day of June.
Death is always attended by sadness, but the death of Ella Kenyon is especially sad, coming
as it did in the morning of her days and before her life had become active with the duties of
middle day; sad because she was her mother's only home companion. She was a happy,
pleasant young lady, and to her associates, no less than to mother, father, sister and two
brothers, her death at the age of 21 years came with the force of a personal bereavement.
She had been afflicted with Bright's Disease for several months, but she bore her sufferings with patience and without murmur.
Ella May Kenyon was born at Montour, in the county of Tama, this state, on January 10, 1878. Sixteen years ago she came with her parents to Manning, which was her home until death.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. S.T. Weaver, were held last Saturday at ten o'clock a.m., from the Methodist Church, following which the remains were borne to the grave. Six young lady friends of the deceased acted as pallbearers. They were Misses Amanda Franke, Ellie Atherton, Grace Shephard, Della Atherton, Emma Parish and Eva McMurray. The funeral was largely attended.
