Ellen Marie, daughter of John Jacob and Amalia "Mollie" Augusta (Wenzel) Fielweber, was born December 8, 1924. at Manning, Iowa. She attended school in Manning and graduated with the Class of 1942. Following graduation, she worked in industrial related jobs in Fort Dodge, Chicago, Sioux City and finally settling in California in 1957. She and her sister Ermyle lived in Long Beach (Little Iowa by the Sea) and worked in Los Angeles. While living in the area Ellen sang in a choir in Long Beach for 30 years. In addition to her love of music, Ellen was interested in all sports teams, especially the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After Ellen retired, she and Ermyle returned to Manning in 1990 to be nearer their family. They lived in their parents' home. Her sister Ermyle and brother Art entered the Manning Plaza when their health began to fail and Ellen followed them shortly thereafter.

When Ellen's health took a turn for the worse and she was moved to the Manning Regional Healthcare Center on December 31, 2015. She died there on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at the age of 91 years and 29 days.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; brother Art Fielweber and wife Frances; and two sisters, Ermyle Fielweber and Arlene and husband Maynard Tapps.

She is survived by her brother Charles Fielweber and wife Marlyn of Manning; nieces and nephews Connie and husband Stephen Rinley; Susan and husband Doug Rieder; Clyde Fielweber; Gwen and husband Bill Jaquith and Scott Fielweber and wife Robin; other relatives and friends.
