Funeral services for Elsie C. Farrell were held Tuesday, November 5, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, Iowa. Reverend Lon Lewis of the United Community Methodist Church, Ogden, Iowa, officiated the service with Joann Karsten as organist and Carolyn Miller as vocalist. Interment was held in Manning City Cemetery, Manning, Iowa, with Marvin Bruch, Al Claussen, Rob Dammann, Darrell Heck, Dick Hansen, and Rick Dammann as casketbearers. Honorary casketbearers were Eric Lark, Tom Bruch, and Everett Christensen.

Elsie, daughter of Johann and Ida (Fischer) Dammann, was born September 12, 1912, near Manning, in Audubon County, Iowa. She attended the rural schools near her home.

February 27, 1940, Elsie was united in marriage with Leonard E. Farrell at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. They lived in Manning the majority of their lives. After Leonard's death in 1987 Elsie continued to make her home in Manning until her health began to fail in July of 1991 when she moved to Ogden, Iowa to be near her son, Larry. When she was no longer able to take care of herself she moved to her son's home and was cared for by Larry and his family until her death there Friday morning, November 1, 1991, at the age of 79 years, 1 month, and 30 days.

Besides her husband, Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; by her sister, Alma, as a child; and by a brother, Louis Dammann.

Elsie is survived by her son, Larry L. Farrell and his wife, Mickey Jo, of Ogden; by three grandchildren: Angela Farrell, of Boone; Kelly Farrell, of Ogden; and Michael Farrell, of Ogden; by the following brother and sisters: Amanda Bogatzke, of Manning; Alfred Dammann, of Manning; and Louella Hamman, of Denison; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Elsie C. Farrell, 79, of Manning died Friday, November 1, 1991, at the home of her son, Larry Farrell of Ogden.

Burial will be at the Manning City Cemetery in Manning.
