Death Of Mrs. Claus Hagge
Last Tuesday noon at her home on east Third Street occurred the death of Mrs. Claus Hagge. She had been sick for several months and some time ago was taken to the hospital at Omaha but the doctors there could do nothing for her. Since returning from the hospital several weeks ago she has slept nearly all the time, being conscious only a few hours each day and her death has been expected for some time.

The funeral will take place from the home tomorrow morning. Rev. Johann Ansorge of the German Lutheran Church officiating, and the remains will be laid to rest in the Five Mile House Cemetery (Hayes Township).

Elsie Dorothea Hagge nee Vohs was born in Krimpel, North Dithmarschen, Holstein, June 15, 1838, and came to this country in 1861, settling at Wheatland, Clinton County, Iowa. In 1866 she was married to Claus Hagge and in 1875 they moved to Crawford County where they resided until 1895 when they moved to Manning, their present home. She leaves a husband, one son, Herman Hagge, and two daughters, Mrs. Emma Patton and Mrs. Minnie Hannemann to mourn her loss.

Mrs. Hagge was a loving wife, kind mother, and numbered her friends by those who knew her, and the Monitor joins the, latter in extending sympathy to the bereaved ones.
