Emil Otto Grundmeier

Funeral services for Emil Grundmeier, 61, prominent Carroll County farmer will be held at Zion Lutheran church at Arcadia, Town, Thursday, December 24th, with Rev. Theodore A. Tews in charge. Burial will be in the Arcadia Cemetery.

Mr. Grundmeier died suddenly of a heart attack at his home six miles southeast of Arcadia, Iowa, five minutes before midnight, Sunday night. He was 61 years of age on Friday, December 18th, 1942.

The deceased was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Grundmeier, and was born in Washington Township, Carroll County, Iowa on December 18, 1881.

Acting as pallbearers will be Oscar Heider, Frank Koepke, Julius Ehlers, Fred Grau, Henry Westendorf and John Riesberg.

Survivors include his wife (Ida Vetter) and six children; Otto and his wife Maye of Westside; Emil Jr. and his wife Helen of near Halbur; Frances, Louise, Irene and Dorothy at home. He also leaves three grandchildren, MaryAnn and Donald, children of Mr. and Mr. Otto Grundmeier and Caroline daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Grundmeier Jr.; and the following sisters and brother. Mrs. Bertha Anspach of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Louise Schroeder of Wall Lake, Mrs. Anna Brunnier of Kansas City, Missouri and Ewald Grundmeier of Arcadia.

Many nieces and nephews and many great nephews and great nieces also survive.
