Emma Marie Bauer
Emma Marie Bauer, age 96, of 1414 Quint Ave. Carroll, Iowa, died at the Carroll Health Center in Carroll on July 18, 1996, at 10:10 A.M. following a lingering illness. She had lived at the Health Center for the past five and a half weeks. The Bauer's farmed South of Westside, Iowa, on the farm where Emma was born on May 9, 1900, in Washington Township, Carroll County, Iowa. They farmed there all their married life and then retired and moved into Carroll in 1949. She was married to Louie Bauer on September 10, 1924, at Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia, Iowa, by Pastor Theodore Tews. Emma was a long time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Arcadia until moving to Carroll when she transferred her membership to St. Paul Lutheran Church. She was a member of the LWML of the Church. As a young girl she attended rural school in Washington Township. Emma was the daughter of Frederick and Amalia (Schrader) Lehmberg.

Surviving are two daughters: Maxine Dohse and her husband Clayton of Carroll, Iowa, and Betty Bauer of Houston, Texas; one grandson Rev. Craig C. Dohse; five great-grandchildren: Gretchen Dohse, Kari Dohse, Shea Dohse, Seth Dohse, and Christian Dohse; a sister Martha Koepke of Carroll; and a sister in law Elsie Lehmberg of Carroll, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Louie on February 20, 1969; a sister Mrs. Vernon Jensen; two brothers: Edward Lehmberg and Alfred Lehmberg; and three granddaughters: Marsha Maxine Dohse, Robin Lou Dohse, and Shawna Kay Dohse.
