EMMA FRAHM
Funeral services for Emma Frahm were held Friday, February 11, 1983, 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, Iowa with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Organist was Dorothy Kusel. Interment was in Manning Cemetery with Curtis Reiter, Russell Reiter, Patrick Grundmeier, Damon Ellsworth, Chad Ellsworth and David Schilling as casketbearers.

Emma, daughter of John and Mary (Holtz) Oeser, was born April 4, 1890, Hayes Township, Crawford County, Iowa. She attended the country schools. On December 21, 1910, she was united in marriage with George Frahm. They farmed before moving to Manning in 1941. George passed away in 1958, and Emma continued to make this community her home. In later years she has resided at the Terrace Apartments, and for the past three years at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. She died at the Manning Plaza Wednesday, February 9, 1983 at the age of 92 years, 10 months, and 5 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her daughter Evelyn, Mrs. Marcellus "Sal" Grundmeier, in 1966; by two brothers, Herman & Louis; and by three sisters, Clara Gust, Minnie Muse, and Alma Eckholdt.

Emma is survived by her son Leonard, and his wife, Shirley, of Raeford, North Carolina; by a son-in-law, Sal Grundmeier of Aspinwall; by 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and by a brother, John Oeser of Manning.

Emma was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. She also was a member of the Dorcas Society, and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

MANNING - Emma Frahm, 92, of Manning, died Wednesday, February 9, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February 11, at Zion Lutheran church in Manning with the Rev. Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Dorothy Kusel will be organist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home of Manning. Serving as casketbearers will be Curtis and Russell Reiter, Patrick Grundmeier, Damon and Chad Ellsworth and David Schilling, all great-grandsons. Mrs. Frahm is survived by a son Leonard and his wife Shirley, Raeford, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild, and a brother John Oeser, Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband George in 1958, a daughter Mrs. Marcellus "Sal" (Evelyn) Grundmeier; two brothers: Louis and Herman and three sisters: Clara Gust, Minnie Muse and Alma Eckholdt.

Mrs. Frahm was born April 4, 1890, in Hayes Township, Crawford County, a daughter of John and Mary (Holtz) Oeser. She attended rural schools and on December 21, 1910, was married to George Frahm. They farmed before moving into Manning in 1941. After his death, she continued to live in Manning, first at the Terrace Apartments and for the past three years at the Manning Plaza. She was active in Zion Lutheran Church and the Dorcas Society and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.


Emma Frahm is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
