EMMA AMANDA AUEN
Emma Amanda Auen, 78, was born November 11, 1886, in Crawford County, the daughter of Claus Henry Grimm and Anna Schwiesow. She was united in marriage to William Gottsch on June 26, 1906. To this union seven children were born. They farmed in the vicinity and then lived in Manning. Mr. Gottsch passed away on June 22, 1943. On October 5, 1954, Emma Amanda Gottsch was married to Ike Auen at Carroll. Mr. Auen died in December of 1959.

Mrs. Auen passed away Tuesday, December 8 at the Wood awn Home in Waterloo. Surviving are four children, Orville of Imperial Beach, California; Verna, Mrs. George Korwes of Gardena, California; Berdene, Mrs. Forest Roth of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. Neolene Lane of Waterloo, also 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, and three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Genzen and Mrs. William (Ida) Wiese of Manning, and Mrs. Anna Ewoldt of Manilla.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, a daughter, Viola and two daughters in infancy, Veronica and Vera, four brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 11 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ohde Funeral Home with the Rev Kieck of Carroll Officiating.
Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
