Last Rites Held For Mrs. August Hansen, Sunday

Funeral services for Mrs. August Hansen (Emma Kusel), 67, were held in the Ohde Funeral Home at two o'clock Sunday afternoon September 20, 1942. The Rev. H.T. Timmer of the Manilla Presbyterian church was in charge of the services. Interment was in the Manning cemetery. Casket bearers were John Frahm, William Nulle, Louis Stammer, William Vollstedt Jr., James Mundt and Fred Petersen.

Music was furnished by a quartet composed of Mrs. N.C. Schrum, Mrs. Albert Dietz, H.C. Pahde and C.M. Johnson, accompanied by Mrs. Henry Hagedorn. H.C. Pahde sang a solo, "A Perfect Day."

Mrs. Hansen passed away at 7:05 Thursday evening, September 17 at the St. Anthony hospital in Carroll where she had been a patient for three days. However, she had been in poor health for a long period of time.

Mrs. Hansen is survived by her husband and four children: Mrs. Otto Greteman, Vertis Hansen, and Mrs. William Sibbel of Manning, and Mrs. Ida Stoelk of West Side.

She also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Ida Zender and Mrs. M.L. Tate, Carroll, and Mrs. Blair Jarvis, Los Angeles, California, and two brothers, Henry Kusel of Bloomfield, Nebraska, and August Kusel of Manning.

Mr. and Mrs. Hansen have lived in Manning since their retirement from farming.
