On June 21st, 1856, she was born in Stakendorf, Probstei, Holstein where she got married to her husband on June 21st, 1879 and with whom she immigrated to America in 1881. There they first lived in Clinton from where they moved to this area where they now had been located for the past twelve years. Their present home in the Asmus Boysen farm 5 miles southeast of Manning. Apart from her faithful husband there are 9 children who mourn for their loving mother. The children are: William, Helene (Frau Charles Hagedorn), Henry, Anna, Ferdinand, Nellie, Laura, Rudolph, and Emma. Two other children had already died some years before.
Death came releasing to the deceased. For five years she had been suffering from cancer in her breast and no doctor was able to help her. Although several doctors - even they were located quite far - did their utmost: and her family cared best for her, she had to suffer the last years.
She now is sleeping peacefully, released from any pain. Although the bereaved are very sad about her death they can be assured that it was best for her. We mourn for a good sincere and modest woman and would like to express our condolence to her bereaved.
On Tuesday she was buried on the local graveyard. Priest Braun held a speech that moved the numerous Trauergemeinde (graveside mourners).
"Danksagung" (expression of thanks).
I herewith would like to express my thanks to my friends and neighbors for their help during the illness of my unforgettable, loving wife
EMMA as well as for the numerous condolences and flowers for the funeral. Furthermore do I want to thank those who gave me financial aid during
the long-term illness of the deceased.
