Erma Irene, daughter of William and Myrtle (Wilson) Segebart, was born October 25, 1918, in Crawford County, Iowa. She grew up in the Westside area and attended rural school near her home.

On September 29, 1936, Erma was united in marriage with Frenz Lohrmann at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Manning. Seven children were born to this union. They moved to Okoboji and worked for the Okoboji Dairy for two years before moving back to the Manning and Westside area. They eventually made their home on the family farm northwest of Manning in 1943. In addition to being a busy farm wife and mother, Erma worked at the Manning Regional Healthcare Center in the kitchen and at L.R. Nelson's Manufacturing Plant. Erma and Frenz moved into Manning in 1971.

They were members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning. Erma volunteered at the Senior Center and was a member of the Zion Ladies Aid and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Erma was known for her hospitality never letting anyone leave her home hungry. She had a wonderful sense of humor that allowed her to laugh at almost anything. Erma enjoyed playing cards especially Euchre. Through the years, her greatest joy was her family and friends.

After her husband died in 1996, Erma continued to live and volunteer in Manning until her health prevented her from working. She moved to Scranton to be closer to her daughters. As Erma's health declined she moved to the Carroll Health Center in 2008. Erma died on Monday, July 22, 2013, at the Carroll Health Center at the age of 94 years, 8 months and 27 days.

Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; daughter Judy Diane Lohrmann; grandson Jeffery Lohrmann; sisters Lillie Dixon, Lulla Pahl, Alice Schoenjahn; and brothers George Segebart and Earl Segebart.

She is survived by her children: Larry (Connie Herbst) Lohrmann of Deloit; Gene (Colene) Lohrmann of Manning; Curt (Judy) Lohrmann of Carroll and Rick (Georgia) Lohrmann of Manning; Kerry Sturm of Carroll and Brenda (Dallas) Warnke of Scranton; 14 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Viola Segebart of Denison; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
