ERNEST KUHN
Ernest Kuhn, 76, lifelong resident of the Manning area, died Sunday, December 29, 1968, at St. Anthony's Hospital in Carroll.

Funeral services are planned for Thursday, January 2, 1969, at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church.

Mr. Kuhn is survived by his wife and six children: Robert of Moville; Helen, Mrs. John Weible of Manning; Ruth, Mrs. William Metcalf of Midland, Michigan; Marjorie, Mrs. Melvin Kusel of Manning; Arthur of Manning; and Orrin of Underwood.

Ernest Kuhn was born March 4, 1892, at Atlantic, Iowa, to Fred and Pauline (Tessman) Kuhn. As a child he moved to a farm south of Manning.

His marriage to Wilhelmine Rohr took place on November 20, 1918, at Manning. The couple farmed south of Manning until 1946 when they moved to town.

Mr. Kuhn had been in failing health for several years and entered the hospital two weeks ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters, and one grandson.

In addition to his wife and children he is survived by three sisters: Mrs. Emma Wycoff, Miss Minnie Kuhn, and Mrs. Arthur (Elsie) Koehrsen of Walnut; one brother, Emil of Manning; seventeen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Mr. Kuhn was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and an Elder and Treasurer of the church for many years.

Ernest Kuhn, 76, of Manning, who entered St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll two weeks ago, died there Sunday, December 29, 1968. He had been in failing health for several years.

Services will be held here at 2 p.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church, of which Mr. Kuhn was a lifelong member. Pastor Edward F. Heinicke will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning after 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Kuhn was born March 4, 1892, at Atlantic, a son of Fred and Pauline (Tessman) Kuhn. As an infant he moved with his family to a farm south of Manning. His marriage to Wilhelmina Rohr took place November 20, 1918, and they lived south of Manning until retiring and moving into town in 1946. Mr. Kuhn was an elder and trustee of Zion Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife; six children, Robert, of Moville; Mrs. John (Helen) Weible, Mrs. Melvin (Marjorie) Kusel, and Arthur of Manning; Mrs. William (Ruth) Metcalf, Midland, Michigan; and Orrin of Underwood; 17 grandchildren, one great-grandchild; a brother, Emil Kuhn, Manning; and three sisters, Mrs. Emma Wycoff and Minnie Kuhn, Manning, and Mrs. Arthur (Elsa) Koerhsen of Walnut.

Mr. Kuhn was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers, Frank and Fred, and three sisters, Mrs. Clara Hall, Mrs. Lillie Stahl, and Mrs. Mary Pike.
