EVERETT F. DAU
Funeral rites for Everett Frederick Dau, 60, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, at the Ohde Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl G. Sinning of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Eastern Star services were held at the Funeral Home, and Masonic rites at the Manning Cemetery. Ray Pratt was soloist for the service; Bonita Hagedorn, organist. His sons were pallbearers.

A son of George and Minnie (Kempf) Dau, he was born at Manning April 20, 1905, and attended school in Manning. He worked as a grocery clerk until his marriage to Mildred Hagge on June 26, 1928. They farmed until 1935, and then moved to Manning. Mr. Dau was employed as a grocery clerk, then as an automobile salesman. He was Manning City Clerk for seven years, and resigned that post January 1, 1965, to accept a position with the State Auditor's office.

He became ill Friday evening, April 23, while returning to Manning from working in Marshalltown. He was taken to Greene County Hospital Jefferson where he died at 8:14 p.m. April 23, 1965. Mrs. Dau died in June 1963. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Leslie (Norma) Foote, Des Moines; two grandchildren, and two brothers, Myles Dau, Manning; Howard Dau, Long Beach, California.

Mr. Dau was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Manning Rotary Club. He was a past master of Manual Lodge No. 450, AF & AM; a past patron of Salona Chapter No. 231, Order of the Eastern Star; and was serving as secretary of the Manning Community Hospital Association.
