Faily Anna, daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Struve) Hill, was born September 8, 1909, in Audubon County, Iowa. As a child, Faily moved with her parents to the Manning area where she attended rural school. Following her schooling, Faily worked as a housekeeper in various homes, working a number of years in Clinton. For eight years she served as a nurse's aid at the Manning General Hospital. In her father’s later years, she cared for him at home.

Faily was a member of the United Methodist Church in Manning. Cooking and sewing were some of the activities that she enjoyed and she was always willing to share her abilities with those around her. Faily had a genuine love for flowers, birds and all things of nature. She enjoyed traveling and took advantage of every opportunity to do so.

Faily resided at the Terrace Apartments from 1980 to 1996 when she entered the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. When her health began to deteriorate, she entered the Manning Regional Healthcare Center several days before her death there on Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at the age of 92 years, 5 months and 19 days.

Preceding Faily in death are her parents and four brothers: Marvin Hill, Albert Hill, Willus Hill and Harold Hill.

She is survived by her brother Wilbur Hill and wife Wynona of Manning, sisters-in-law Lois Hill of Manning and Viola Hill of Schleswig, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
