Funeral services for Fay Donaghu were held Wednesday, July 18, 1984, 2:00 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home at Manning with Rev. Dennis Johnson of the Manning First Presbyterian Church officiating. Organist was Connie Siepker and soloist was Judy Joens. Interment was at the Manning City Cemetery with casketbearers Eddie Fischer, George Graves, Milford McConnell, Leo Bruch, Herb Ullerich, and LaVerne Olsen.

Fay, son of William and Ida (Zenor) Donaghu, was born August 13, 1910, at Greenville, Iowa. He graduated from Windom High School, Windom, Minnesota, where he had moved with his parents. He attended Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois, and graduated from Iowa State College, Ames, Iowa, in 1932, with a Degree in Dairy Science.

After graduating from college he worked in Waterloo, Nebraska, a short time before moving to Manning, Iowa, where he worked for the Manning Creamery Co. for 20 years, until his health forced him to seek other employment. He then worked for Creamery Package Co. selling dairy equipment in eastern Iowa for 9 years when he retired for health reasons. While working in eastern Iowa, he lived in West Liberty, Iowa.

After his retirement in 1972, he moved back to Manning.


Fay Donaghu is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
