Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Grimm were Wednesday, March 23, 1977, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church at Manning, Iowa with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Interment was in Manning Cemetery with Lavern Balk, Glen McMahon, Roy Schrum, Allen Ehlers, Richard Crandall and Louis Puck as casketbearers.

Florence, daughter of Ferdinand and Helena (Petersen) Stahl, was born May 17, 1898, in Clinton County, Iowa. She came to the Manning community with her parents at the age of three and received her schooling in the rural schools near her home. She was united in marriage with Henry W. Grimm on November 8, 1916. They farmed near Manning until moving to town in 1947. Her husband died June 12, 1961, and Florence continued to make her home in Manning until moving to the Manning Plaza in January of this year. She entered the Manning General Hospital this last Tuesday where she died early Sunday morning, March 20, 1977, at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 3 days. Florence was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Manning.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter in infancy, by her, parents, one brother and one half-sister.

She is survived by one son, Raymond Grimm, Manning, by 5 grandchildren: Dean Grimm, Long Prairie, Minnesota; Curtis Grimm, Gray, Iowa; Bruce Grimm, Grimes, Iowa; Alan and Connie Grimm, Manning; by one brother, Labert Stahl, Manning; one half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Jessen, Low Moor, Iowa; and one half-brother, J.H. Sherwood, Manning, as well as by many other relatives and friends.
