Florine E. Fischer, 79, of Carroll, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 2, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with the Rev. Timothy Johnson as celebrant.
Lector will be Wayne Wuebker.
Gift bearers will be Merlin Wuebker and Rita Wuebker
Eucharistic Ministers will be Bill Wuebker and Bob Wuebker.
Music will be “On Eagle’s Wings”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, “Hail Mary: Gentle Woman”, “Be Not Afraid”, and “How Great Thou Art."
Vocalists will be Holy Spirit Choir.
Barb McDermott will be organist.
Casket bearers will be Gary Wuebker, Bobby Wuebker, Kevin Wuebker, Richard Wuebker, Tim Wuebker, and Dan Wuebker.
Honorary casket bearers will be Florine’s nieces and nephews and friends and staff at Sunnybrook.
Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Visitation will be after 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, at Ohde Twit Funeral Home in Carroll with a Legion of Mary Rosary at 5 p.m. and a 7 p.m. vigil service.

Florine Elizabeth, daughter of Joseph J. and Viola (Tacke) Wuebker was born on July 23, 1932, in Carroll.

In 1940, the family moved to Ayrshire and she attended country school and Sacred Heart Grade School through the 10th grade. She then graduated from St. Angela’s Academy in 1951.

Florine worked at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville before returning to Carroll and worked at Pauline’s Café, St. Anthony Hospital, and the Burke Hotel.

On September 8, 1962, Florine was united in marriage with Dennis Fischer at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Carroll. In 1964 she graduated from Thompson’s Beauty Culture School in Des Moines. From 1964 to 1979, Florine worked as a beautician at the Beauty Bar in Manning.

After the death of her husband in 1990, Florine worked at Tony’s Restaurant and the Carroll Day Care Center until her retirement. Florine was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Legion of Mary and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She enjoyed playing cards and visiting with friends and family.
In 2010, she moved to Sunnybrook in Carroll.

Florine is survived by her brothers: Merlin Wuebker and wife Rita of Milford; Robert Wuebker and wife Bonnie of Emmetsburg; Bill Wuebker and wife Colleen of West Bend; Dr. Ralph Wuebker and wife Margie of Dallas, Texas, and Jim Wuebker and wife Stella of Rochester, Minnesota; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sisters Norma Jean and husband Paul Ocken and Donna Mae and husband Don Willeke.
