Floyd Campbell

Floyd Campbell, 83, died August 28 at the Carroll Manor, Carroll. Funeral services were held August 31 at the Manning Presbyterian Church with Rev. Carl Sinning of Guthrie Center officiating. Burial was at Audubon.
He was born December 27, 1888 near Manning, the son of James and Mary (Crawford) Campbell.
He attended Lincoln No. 2 "Brookfield" school in Lincoln Township and graduated from the Manning high school in 1907. He farmed with his father until 1914 when he operated a garage in Manilla.

He married Lida Sheets June 16, 1916, and they farmed on the Campbell home place.
His wife died in 1966 and Floyd continued to make his home on the farm until moving to the Carroll Manor recently.
He was a past member of the Manning Fire department and a member of their World Championship Running team.

He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, two grandchildren, his parents, and one sister, Mrs. George Aikman.

Survivors include three sons, Frank A. of Wenatchee, Washington, Howard N. of Omaha, Nebraska, and George, W. of Gray; one daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary) Keat of Manilla;19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.


FLOYD CAMPBELL
Floyd Campbell, 83, of Manning who has resided at the Carroll Manor for the last two months, died Monday noon, August 28, 1972, at the Carroll Manor.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Manning Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Carl Sinning of Guthrie Center officiating. Burial will be in the Audubon Cemetery with the Ohde Funeral Home of Manning in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Campbell was born December 27, 1888, near Manning, a son of James A. and Mary Amelia (Crawford) Campbell. He attended Brookfield School in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, and graduated from Manning High School in 1907.

He farmed until 1914 and then operated a garage in Manilla.

His marriage to Lida Sheets took place June 16, 1916. They operated the same farm where he was born until she died October 20, 1966. Mr. Campbell continued to live on the farm until three months ago when he was admitted to St. Anthony Regional Hospital, Carroll. He was then transferred to the Carroll Manor.

He was a former member of the Manning Fire Department championship running team.

Mr. Campbell is survived by three sons, Frank A. of Wenatchee, Washington, Howard N. of Omaha, Nebraska; and George W. of Gray; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Mary P.) Keat of Manilla; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Dorothy Mae, in infancy; two grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. George Aikman.
