MRS. JACK (FRANCES) LONG

Mrs. Long was born March 16, 1907, at Scranton, Iowa, a daughter of James and Fannie (Horan) Deluhery. She was married to Jack Long on February 12, 1929, at Jefferson. She received her education at the former St. Angela Academy in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial for Mrs. Jack (Frances) Long, 76, of Carroll, was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 27, 1983, at Holy Spirit Church with the Rev. Roger Augustine, V.F., as celebrant.

Mrs. Long died Friday, June 24, at the Manning Plaza Nursing Home in Manning.

Gift-bearers were grandsons: Danny Zerwas and Mike Hughes. Burial was in Sacred Heart parish cemetery at Templeton with the Rev. Joseph Steib officiating.

Casketbearers were Frank Handlos, Malick Foley, Louis Odendahl, Francis Zerwas, Emmet Mullen, and Tom Bandow.

Rosaries were recited at 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll.

Mrs. Long is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Charles (Ramona) Hughes, Manning, and Mrs. Philip (Jean) Zerwas, Torrington, Wyoming; a brother, Jack Deluhery, Lake City, and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; two brothers: James and Tom, and three sisters: Norah, Lorena, and Mary.
