DEATH OF FRANK HALFORD.
Peacefully, on the northern slope of the Manning Cemetery, rests all that is mortal of Frank Halford. Past is his association with the familiar and treasured scenes of home and fireside. He has taken his last journey and is sleeping his last, profound, dreamless sleep. Death is always sad, but the death of Frank Halford is especially so, for life to him had really just begun.

He was of a cheerful and buoyant disposition, and was the friend of everybody, and everyone in return was his friend. He passed away Tuesday noon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Halford, four miles south of the city. Inflammation of the stomach was the fatal disease. During his illness, which was of short duration, the best medical skill was provided, but it seemed powerless to bring about any change for the better. Frank H. Halford was born in the township of Lincoln, county of Audubon, fifteen years ago this month. Frank was a faithful son, always willing and anxious to do all he could to assist and better the condition of his parents. He loved his Sabbath school and Endeavor meetings, and was always there when it was possible to be. While the most profound sympathy is extended to those who were bound to the departed by the nearest and dearest ties, there is certainly solace in the belief that it is well with him for whom they mourn, and that the survivors shared with him the hope of a reunion in a better land.

The funeral was held on yesterday afternoon, at 3:00, from the Christian Church, the Rev. J.W. Paine, pastor of the church, officiating. The services were largely attended.
