FRANK HANDLOS
Frank, son of Albert and Maria (Reitmeier) Handlos, was born September 17, 1915, on a farm near Templeton, Iowa. He attended school at Dedham.

On February 1, 1939, Frank was united in marriage with Lila Riesselman at St. Augustine Church in Halbur, Iowa. Three children, Gary, Linda, and Tom were born to this union.

Frank farmed until 1974, moving to his home in Manning that year. He had an active retirement doing painting and odd jobs for people in the community. Frank enjoyed being with his friends, just visiting or playing cards.

For the past year and a half Frank had been in poor health. He died on Friday afternoon, April 13, 1990, at Manning General Hospital at the age of 74 years, 6 months, and 26 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; by his brother, Ed; and by a grandson, Quinn Handlos.

Survivors include his wife, Lila, of Manning; three children: Gary Handlos, of Boise, Idaho; Linda and her husband, Art Juergens, of Fairmont, Minnesota; and Tom Handlos and his wife, Delores, of Sibley, Iowa; 6 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Albert and Henry Handlos, both of Manning; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
