KILLED BY TRAIN
Frank Kuypers of Templeton meets death at Main Street Crossing by No. 11, Northwestern passenger on Sunday Morning - Deceased was an Old Resident of Carroll County and Well Known in Carroll - Funeral at Templeton Tuesday.

A most shocking accident occurred Sunday morning, where the Northwestern line crosses Main Street, in which Frank Kuypers was struck and instantly killed by passenger train No. 11.

Mr. Kuypers and wife had come up from Templeton Saturday and were the guests of his brother-in-law, George Reinhart, and family. They had planned on attending services here and also spending the day visiting among various friends and relatives. It seems Mr. Kuypers was out taking an early morning walk and coming up the tracks from the south side, he found the walk obstructed by a freight train moving east. In passing behind this train as it cleared the walk Mr. Kuypers was struck by No. 11 and instantly killed. The body was thrown nearly thirty feet and was badly bruised and torn.

No one appears to have witnessed the sad scene. Night watch Pagel saw the deceased as he was approaching the track from the south, in the vicinity of the City hotel. The fireman on No. 11 saw Mr. Kuypers just before the train struck him.

The remains were removed to Templeton Monday and funeral services were conducted from the Catholic Church today, Tuesday.

Mr. Kuypers was born in Holland was 52 years of age. He has resided in Carroll County for nearly 20 years and at the time of his death was section foreman for the Milwaukee at Templeton. He leaves, a wife and seven children to mourn his death, to whom the sympathy of many friends go out in this hour of their bereavement.
