Rev. F. W. Heinke Dies
Following Long Illness

Funeral services were held this afternoon for Rev. F. W. Heinke, father of Mrs. J. M. Ansorge, who passed away at 3:45 Monday afternoon after an illness which began in May 1938. During the last two months he was bedfast and his three daughters ministered all the care that could possibly be given to ease the suffering of their father.

Frederick W. Heinke was born in Prussia, Germany, on April 24, 1860. In 1876 he came to America, the only member of his family coming to this country and in the same year entered Concordia Theological Seminary at Springfield, Ill., from which he was ordained in 1882. His first charge was in Auburndale, Wis., where he was located 15 months. In October of 1882 he was united in marriage to Miss Isabella Schmidt in Catham, Ill. In 1883 he accepted a charge at Lacona, Iowa where he served for 23 years. In 1906 he became pastor of the Franklin Twp. Church near Wiota. His 50th anniversary in the ministry was observed with a special service in which the entire conference participated with his congregation. In 1932 he resigned and has lived in retirement in his home in Manning, which he purchased, adjoining the parsonage home of Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Ansorge.

He is survived by three daughters, Gertrude, Mrs. J. M. Ansorge; Minna, Mrs. Wm. Oldham of Melcher; and Hulda, Mrs. G. H Brandhorst of Atlantic; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Heinke preceded him in death in March, 1931. Two sons, Martin and Gerhard were victims of a drowning accident in 1911; one son died in infancy; another son, Pastor Paul Heinke, died at Spirit Lake in 1935.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. A. Schwidder of Wall Lake, President of the Iowa District West, in charge.

Services will be held at 3:30 at Wiota where he will be buried beside his wife and two sons. Rev. Theodore Hoeman of Adair, Vice Pres., will have charge of the services there.
