FRED P. LOHRMANN
Fred Paul Lohrmann, 88, Westside, died at his home here Sunday morning, April 25, 1965, after being ill for two weeks. He had served as Westside town marshal for 12 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, of which he was a member. Pastor Edward Heinicke will officiate and burial will be in the Manning Cemetery, in charge of the Ohde Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be grandsons: Donald Sander, Holstein; Verle Massman, Westside; Larry, Gene, and Curtis Lohrmann and David Dammam, Manning.

Mr. Lohrmann was born November 10, 1876, at Luden, Germany, a son of Bernard and Margaretha (Wulven) Lohrmann. At the age of four years, he came to the United States with his family, settling in the Five-Mile House area south of Westside. His marriage to Clara Joachimsen took place February 9, 1900, with the Rev. Mr. Martens officiating.

The couple farmed in Carroll County for a few years, and later moved to a farm in Crawford County near the Five-Mile House. They moved to Westside in 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Lohrmann noted their 65th wedding anniversary February 9 of this year.

Survivors include his wife; five children: Mrs. Otto (Elva) Massman, Mrs. Ada Frahm, at home; Mrs. Louis (Laura) Sander, Yreka, California; Frenz Lohrmann and Mrs. William (Arla) Dammann, Manning; 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Also, a brother, Albert Lohrman (family dropped the 2nd n), Sioux City; a sister, Mrs. Agnes Kruthoff, Clark, South Dakota; a half-brother, Hans Jurgensen, Schleswig; and a half-sister, Mrs. Hilda Tigges, Neleigh, Nebraska.

Mr. Lohrmann was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
