George Cooley
DEATH OF GEORGE COOLEY.
The death of Mr. George Cooley at his home in this city on September 5, closed a long and
well-spent life. He had been a continual sufferer with neuralgia of the nerves for a long
period and it was this that finally resulted in his death. Born in Pittsfield, Vermont, in 1826,
Mr. Cooley was 73 years old when he died. He came to this county in 1856, settling on a
farm near where Dedham now stands. He was the parent of seven children, one of whom
is Mrs. H.H. Parish of this city.
Mr. Cooley was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and his life was an exemplary one.
The remains were taken to Dedham Wednesday afternoon on the 2:30 train, and funeral services were held from the M.E. Church immediately upon arriving there the minister of that church, the Rev. W.L. Cox, officiating.
