Gertrude "Trudy" Lloyd was born March 20, 1925, in Manning, Iowa, the daughter of Charles Blaine and Minnie Elizabeth (Tessman) Hershman. She married Darcy Bertram Lloyd, Jr. of Deep River, Connecticut, on May 1, 1946, in Manning, Iowa, at the home of her parents Charles and Minnie. Trudy was a dedicated and loving Navy wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by two sons, Russell Gale Lloyd and his wife Christine of San Diego, California, and Darcy Patrick Lloyd and his wife Lori of Pearland, Texas. Four grandsons, two granddaughters, 3 great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Darcy B. Lloyd, Jr., Master Chief USN and her daughter Deborah Joyce Lloyd 48 years. Gertrude passed away July 4, 2012, in Houston, Texas, with her family by her side. Services will be held at Carolina Memorial Park in North Charleston, South Carolina, Tuesday July 17, 2012, at 12pm.
