Gustav Franke, our city tailor, is still up at Rochester, Minnesota, and is
said to be quite low and grave hopes are entertained of his recovery, although
a letter received Tuesday from there stated that his condition was a little
improved. It is hoped by his many friends here that he may recover soon again.
They expected Gustav, Jr., from West Point, New York, Monday.

Gustav Franke left Friday for Rochester, Minnesota, to have
an operation performed by the celebrated Mayo Brothers, for a goitre on the left side of his throat. These doctors are
supposed to be the greatest surgeons in the world. Mrs. Franke and her
daughter, Mrs. Freelove, went up Tuesday to be with him until he is out of danger.
