Harry Hays, 90, died about 7:30 on Sunday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Grelck in Manning.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ohde Funeral Home here. The Rev. F.E. Hamlin, pastor of the Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetary. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
Mr. Hays born Nov. 14, 1865 at Franklin, Vango County, Pennsylvania, moved to Elkhart, Ind., with his parents when he was three years old. Later, the family moved to Murray, Clark County, Iowa.
In 1882, at the age of 17, Mr. Hays came to Manning, where he lived most of the time since then.
He was married in 1889 to Elvira Jane Swearingen at Manning. She preceded him in death. Also deceased is a son, Lyle, who drowned at the age of 11 years.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Earl Hays, Fort Dodge and five daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Mary) Doolittle, Des Moines; Mrs. H.J. (Delphia) White, Rock Rapids, Minn.; Mrs. Henry (Blanche) Grelck, Manning; and twins Mrs. Mevis (Erma) Wiese and Mrs. Earl (Enid) Barsby, Manning. He also leaves nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Mr. Hays had worked for the Manning Creamery and the Priebe Company here. He had also installed and serviced machinery in different stores of the Beatrice Food Company, Des Moines.
Mr. Hays had been at Mrs. Grelck's home the last five weeks and at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll prior to that time.

Mr. Hays, born November 14, 1865, at Franklin, Vango County, Pennsylvania, moved to Elkhart, Indiana, with his parents, David and Harriet (Heasley) Hays, when he was three years old. Later, the family moved to Murray, Clark County, Iowa.

Funeral services for Harry Hays, 90, were held Tuesday at the Ohde Funeral Home here.

Dr. Fred E. Hamlin of the First Presbyterian Church officiated. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Hays came to Manning in 1882 and has been a resident here ever since. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Henry Grelck.

Survivors are one son, Dr. Earl Hays of Fort Dodge; five daughters: Mrs. Clyde Doolittle of Des Moines, Mrs. Harry J. White of Park Rapids, Minnesota; Mrs. Henry Grelck, Mrs. Meves Wiese, and Mrs. Earl Barsby, all of Manning; two brothers, Clyde Hays of Sidney, New York, and Mike Hays, of Grassy Butte, North Dakota; three sisters: Mrs. Nora Tobin and Mrs. Zoe Tobin, both of Huron, South Dakota; and Mrs. Kate Ihler of Laurel, Nebraska.
