Harry Lamaack

Funeral services for Harry Lamaack were held Sunday, May 16, 1993, at 1:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, Iowa. Pastor Glenn Wiechmann of Trinity Lutheran Church in Manilla, Iowa officiated the service with Fern Jensen as organist. Interment was held in Manning City Cemetery, Manning, Iowa, with Tom Walters, Milton Sinow, Doug Mohr, Allan Lamaack, Roy Schilling, and Wallace Schroeder as casketbearers.

Harry, son of Hans and Lizzie (Kai) Lamaack, was born October 3, 1912, in Iowa Township, Crawford County, Iowa. He attended schools in the Manilla area and farmed with his parents.

After his father's death Harry and his mother moved into Botna. He cared for his mother until her death, and he continued to live in that home for a period of time. He later moved to Aspinwall.

After suffering a stroke, Harry's health began to fail. He died on Wednesday, May 12, 1993, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 9 days.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Lamaack and a sister, Geraldine Schroeder.

Survivors include two sisters: Edna Meggers, of the Manilla Manor and Anna Saunders, of Oakland, California, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
