Funeral services for Henry Christian Ewoldt, 80, was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 1965, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla, with Rev Willis E. Grant of the Manilla Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Nishnabotna Cemetery, with nephews acting as pallbearers.

Son of Henry and Sophia (Schroeder) Ewoldt, he was born July 24, 1885, in Hayes Township, Crawford County. He lived on a farm near Manning and attended rural schools. On February 19, 1913, he married Alvina Puck. They farmed in Hayes Township until 1962, when he moved to Manilla. Mr. Ewoldt was taken to the Crawford County Hospital two weeks ago and died there at noon on October 24.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, five children: Albert of Vail; Mrs. Edward (Edna) Hester of Buck Grove; Mrs. John (Laverne) Kohnekamp of Charter Oak; Ralph of Manning and Mrs. Walter (Aria) Hansohn, Kiron; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Rudolph Ewoldt, Manilla and Hugo Ewoldt, Manning; two sisters, Mrs. Olga Schrum, Clark, South Dakota, and Mrs. Lawrence (Martha) Clausen, Scio, Oregon.
