Mr. and Mrs. Lorens Clausen Mourn Death of Son

This week we are called upon to report and mourn the loss of one of our young boys Henry Clausen, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorens Clausen who departed this life. His death occurred at 11 a.m. Friday, June 21, 1929. The lad was ill only a few days and at first no one thought it to be anything serious. When a physician was summoned, he was immediately removed to the hospital in Manning and an operation for ruptured appendix was performed on Thursday morning. He fought a gallant battle and every possible thing was done for him that loving hand and professional skill could do, but all was in vain and death won in the end. He was a willing worker and good natured boy and was just at the age where he was beginning to be quite a help to his parents and he will be greatly missed by his loving relatives and school pals.

Henry Clausen, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorens Clausen, was born on a farm north of Aspinwall on the 13th day of April, 1916, and died at the age of 13 years 2 months and 8 days. He was baptized by Reverend Wendt in the Lutheran faith in Aspinwall. He is survived and mourned by his parents, two brothers, Earl and Arlo, his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Clausen, Mrs. Sophia Ewoldt and many uncles, aunts and cousins.

Funeral services were held at the Manning Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock Sunday, June 23rd, with Rev. Johann M. Ansorge officiating. Interment was made at the Manning Cemetery. Henry Otto, Harry Koester, Donald Guth, first name missing in article Rowedder, Elmer Lund, and Glenn Ehrichs acted as pallbearers. Our heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved relatives in the time of their great sorrow.
