The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mr. J.H. Hammer of Manning and was 28 years, 11 months and 10 days of age at the time of his death which occurred at Davenport, Iowa, Thursday, May 12th, following an operation.
Henry Hammer was born June 22, 1909, at Manilla. For the past two years he had been making his home at Davenport where he was employed at the Bettendorf foundry, however, he had been working on a farm in that vicinity until his recent illness. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Davenport, of which Rev. Harm is the pastor.
He leaves to mourn his untimely passing, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Hammer of Manning; three brothers, William of Denison, Edward of Davenport and Ludwig of Manning; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Gluesing, Miss Marie Hammer of Kansas City, Missouri, Mrs. Anita Freml of Denison, and Mrs. Dorothy Wolfram of Davenport. Two brothers passed away in infancy.
Mrs. Dorothy Wolfram, Edward Hammer and Miss Margaret Strosahl accompanied the body to Manning.
Pallbearers were his cousins, Alfred Nulle, Fred Nulle, William Meggers; nephews Arnold Gluesing and Wesley Freml.

Wingrone (Wingrove?) and son Howard of Manilla; Frank Freml of Vail and Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Mundt of Glidden.
Funeral Services For Henry Hammer In Manning Sunday
Funeral services for Henry J.F. Hammer, 28, were held in the Ohde Funeral Home
Sunday, May 15, at 2 o'clock with Pastor John M. Ansorge of the Manning
Lutheran Church in charge. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.
The following relatives acted as pallbearers: Alfred Nulle, Fred Nulle, William Meggers, Ed Meggers, Arnold Gluesing, and Wesly Freml.
He passed away May 12, at Davenport, Iowa.
He was born at Manning, Iowa. For the past two years he had been employed in a factory at Bettendorf until the shops closed. At the time of his death he was working on a farm.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John and Caroline (Nulle) Hammer, of Manning; three brothers, William Hammer, Denison; Ludwig of Manning; Edward of Davenport; four sisters, Mrs. Rose Gluesing, of Denison; Miss Marie Hammer, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. Anita Freml, Denison; Mrs. Dorothy Wolfrom, of Davenport, Iowa.
Two brothers died in infancy. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Davenport.

Henry Hammer
Henry Hammer, 28, of 1621 West Seventeenth Street, died at Mercy Hospital at 6:15 p.m. Thursday following a short illness.
Mr. Hammer was born in Manila, Iowa, and received his education in the schools there. Until the shops were closed, he was employed as a coremaker for the Bettendorf Company, and later worked as a farm hand. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Hammer, Manning, Iowa; four sisters, Mrs. Alfred Gluesing, Denison, Iowa; Miss Marie Hammer, Kansas City, Missouri; Mrs. George Freml, Vail, Iowa; Mrs. Richard Wolfram, Davenport; three brothers: William S. Hammer, Davenport; Lewis Hammer, Manning, and Edward E. Hammer, Davenport.
The body was removed to the Hill and Fredericks Mortuary and
will be sent to Manning tonight for funeral services and burial.
