Henry Husmann Dead.
January 14, 1909 Manning Monitor

Henry Husmann died at his home two miles northwest of Manning Inst. Thursday, January 7th. He had been suffering for a long time with that dread disease, cancer of the stomach, and one which no doctor can cure. Mr. Husmann was a good, upright, honest man and to do right was always his aim, and we have never yet heard a man say a word against his name.

Henry Husmann was born March 10, 1839, at Harst Norden Dithmarschen, Holstein, Germany; came to America when a boy to Lyons, Iowa, where he was married to Louisa Claussen in 1872, and four years later he moved to Carroll County, near Halbur; then he moved to his present home, where he died, two miles north of Manning, and where he has resided twenty-nine years. The funeral took place at the home last Saturday morning, Rev. Johann Ansorge officiating; after which the remains were laid to rest in Iowa Township Cemetery, northwest of town, followed by a long concourse of relatives and old friends.

The bereaved have the sympathy of the community in their sorrow.
