ANOTHER OLD SETTLER GONE

Henry Kuhl was born in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, July 30, 1850. In the strength of his young manhood he came to America in 1869 and settled in Scott County, Iowa. Here he was married to Dorothea Schroeder, the twentieth day of February, 1873. To this union God gave five children Adolph, who resides in North Dakota, Gustav who died some twelve years ago, Rudolph of Manning, and Charlie and Mrs. Anna Jansen who live two miles west of Manning.

In the spring of 1884 they moved to Crawford County, Iowa, where they farmed successfully till about eleven years ago when they moved to Manning. For a number of years Mr. Kuhl has been in poor health and his last hours were filled with extreme pain and suffering. He at last found relief from his suffering and passed into the Great Beyond about 11 o'clock, May 20, 1920, aged 69 years, 10 months and 29 days.

He leaves to mourn his demise, his aged companion for many years, four children, his brother Claus Kuhl, Manilla, fifteen grandchildren, a host of friends.

The funeral services was conducted at the home in Manning by Rev. Meredith and his last remains laid to rest in the Manning Cemetery.
