Death of Henry Lutt.
John Reinholdt received word last Thursday that Henry Lutt was dying. He immediately telegraphed the hospital at Clarinda where Mr. Lutt has been for the past four years, that he would be down on the next train, but before he arrived there Mr. Lutt had died, June 16, 1903. He immediately shipped him to Manning and arrived here Friday morning and arranged for the burial which occurred Saturday morning at 9 o'clock. Mr. Lutt became demented some four years ago and was taken to the hospital at Clarinda, Iowa, he has not been in good health since and as above stated he died last Thursday.

Jockhim Heinrich Lutt was born September 5, 1864, at Fargan, Holstein Germany, came to America in 1884 with his father and one sister, settled in Crawford County near Aspinwall, was married about 4 years later to Miss Emma Claussen, who died about 2 years later. In about two years after the death of his first wife he was married to Emma Biehl, who still survives him. Mr. Lutt was a good kind man and had many friends. He was a member of the German Lutheran Church and also of the German Lodge No. 560 I.O.O.F., and which order took charge of the remains after arrival here.

Rev. William Martens officiated at the funeral. He was laid to rest in the Manning Cemetery Saturday morning followed by a large concourse of friends. The bereaved has the sympathy of this community in their sad affliction.


Henry Lutt is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
