HERBERT F. HINZE

Herbert F. Hinze, 85, of Manning, a retired farmer, died Thursday, February 5, 1981, at the Manning General Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 7, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with the Rev. Donald Jones, pastor of the United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn will be organist and Mrs. Ray Pratt vocalist. Serving as pallbearers will be Cleo Chamberlain, Clifford, Tank, Tom Williams, Ron Frahm, Wilbur Hill, and Bill Opperman.

A Masonic memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.

Surviving are a daughter Pearl Hinze, Bellevue, Washington; a son Orville Hinze and his wife Iva, Arcadia; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Julius (Ellen) Hoffmann, Chicago, and Mrs. Ron (Shirley) Dewillers, Leavenworth, Washington; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Laura Popp, Manning; Mrs. Lillie Eckholdt, Manning; and Mrs. Hazel Culver, Seattle, Washington; nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his two wives, parents and a brother Leonard.

Mr. Hinze was born December 20, 1895, near Arcadia, a son of Charles F. and Christine (Holst) Hinze. He was married January 3, 1917, to Freda Nulle. They were parents of two children, Pearl and Orville. She died in 1933. He was married February 20, 1935, to Margaret (Struve) Coleman. They farmed north of Manning in Washington Township until moving to Manning in 1966. She died November 16, 1978. Later he entered the Manning Plaza Nursing Home. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, the Woodmen of the World, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star, and the Masonic Order, Manuel Lodge 450, A.F. & A.M.
