Herbert M. Kuhl, 61, 213 East Seventh St., Carroll, died Monday morning at Methodist Hospital in Omaha where he had been a patient since being injured in a fall down basement steps in his home April 8, 1970.

Funeral services will be held Thursday from Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with the Rev. Edward F. Heinicke officiating; Dorothy Kusel, organist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery with cousins as pallbearers.

Mr. Kuhl, son of H.E. and Caroline "Lena" (Jahn) Kuhl, was born May 30, 1908, in Hayes Township, Crawford County. He attended rural schools and worked on farms and did some carpenter work.

On Aug. 31, 1931, he married Alice Wilhelm at St. Joseph, Mo. The couple farmed in the Manning area; and moved to Aspinwall in 1943; three years later they moved to Manning and in 1959 to Carroll, where they now live.

Mr. Kuhl was injured in a fall at his home on April 8, and was taken to Nebraska Methodist Hospital in Omaha, where he died at 10:00 a.m. on Monday April 13.

He was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gene Kuhl, Westside; Rollin Kuhl, Irwin, five grandchildren; his mother, who lives at the Manning Plaza; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Hugo (Elsie) Wilhelm, Sioux City; Mrs. Ray (Melvina) Vollstedt, Manilla; Marvin, Manilla; Marcus, Storm Lake, and Mrs. Katherine Vollstedt, Manning.
