Funeral services for Herman Anthony, 74, Manning, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church here. The Rev. George B. Eschenbacher will officiate; and burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at noon Monday from the Ohde Funeral Home.

Mr. Anthony, who had been ill for about a year, died early Friday, April 26, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, where he had been for two weeks.

He was born September 18, 1888, in Washington Township, a son of Claus and Anna (Jahn) Anthony. He attended school near his home. On February 21, 1911, he was married to Hulda Molter and they farmed on the same farm where he was born until retiring and moving to Manning in 1948. Mrs. Anthony died October 1, 1958.

Surviving are two sons, Lewis Anthony and Gilmore Anthony, Manning; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John Ostermeyer, Westside; and two brothers, William and Henry Anthony, Manning.

Besides his wife, Mr. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
