Former Manning Man Buried At Mitchell, South Dakota.

Funeral services were held last Wednesday morning, August 28 for Herman F. Hagedorn of Ethan, South Dakota, brother of Carl Hagedorn of Manning. Mr. Hagedorn passed away Saturday evening, August 24th of a heart attack while playing cards with friends. He had been ill for some time but seemingly was feeling somewhat better. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church in Ethan at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning. Interment was made in the cemetery at Mitchell.

Herman Frederick Hagedorn, son of Christian and Auguste Hagedorn was born March 15th, 1871, in Gornitz, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany and passed away at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 9 days. He came to America with his parents on October 28th, 1888, and settled near Aspinwall. In 1893 he was married to Miss Sophia Sievertsen. They farmed in this community until 1911 when they moved to a farm near Ethan, South Dakota, which has since been their home.

To this union were born four children, George, Charles, Amanda, and Milda, all of whom are living in Dakota. Surviving him with his widow and children are two sisters, Mary, Mrs. Louis Tollgaard; Minnie, Mrs. Conrad Koester both of Flandreau, South Dakota; his brother Carl of Manning and four grandchildren.
