HILDA CHRISTINE DETHLEFS
Hilda Christine Dethlefs, 92, of Sioux City, Nebraska, and formerly of Manning died on Sunday, July 22, 1990.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 26, 1990, at 2 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. The Rev. Marshall Brown of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning will officiate.

Burial will be at the Manning City Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Richard Voss, Curt Anderson, Charles Voss, Kenneth Dethlefs, William F. Ohde and Milo Voss.

Visitation will begin after noon on Thursday at the Ohde Funeral Home.

Mrs. Dethlefs was born April 1, 1898, in Manning, a daughter of George and Margaretha (Peper) Dethlefs. She attended Manning Schools, graduating in 1915. She continued her education at various schools and eventually received her Bachelor of Arts degree in education from Morningside College in 1940.

In early years, Hilda made her home in Manning with her parents. She taught school in Sioux City from 1928 until 1963 and made her home in Sioux City.

She spent her retirement years there, later moving to Green Acres Care Center in South Sioux City where she died.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include her sister, Helen Voss, of Fort Dodge; and the following nieces and nephews: Milo Voss and his wife, Doris Jean, of Ames; JoAnn Anderson of Columbia, Missouri, and her nieces and nephews, including Bernice and her husband Bill Ohde and Kenneth Detlef and his wife Virginia, all of Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, George, Fred, and Emil Dethlefs, and infant siblings.
