HILDA FISCHER

Funeral services for Hilda Fischer were held Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Manning, with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery with Ralph Grundmeier, Hugo Ahrendsen, Leroy Musfeldt, Ross Graner, Amos Misselhorn, and Ron Baker as asketbearers.

Hilda Theresa Fischer, daughter of Pete and Margaret (Sierks) Hansen, was born August 14, 1909, in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. She attended rural schools near her home and Trinity Lutheran Parochial School. Later she graduated from the Gray High School. She attended the Northwest Institute of Medical Technology in Minneapolis, Minnesota and worked at Springfield, Massachusetts as a laboratory technician.

She came to Manning to manage Senters Variety Store and was united in marriage with George Fischer June 16, 1935. Since her marriage she has made her home in Manning, where she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and of the Dorcas Society of the church.

Hilda has been in failing health for the past two years and passed away at the Manning General Hospital Thursday, May 12, 1977, at the age of 67 years, 8 months, and 28 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Annie Pruter, and Alma Miller, and one brother, Otto.

Survivors in addition to her husband, George, are: two sons, Larry of Waseca, Minnesota, and Douglas at home; by two sisters, Mrs. Amalia "Molly" Hass of Manilla, and Mrs. Lillie Hansen of Audubon, and by one brother, Hugo Hansen of rural Audubon.


Hilda Fischer is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
