A quartet, Martha (Mrs. Nick C.) Schrum, Minnie (Mrs. Ted) Rix, Herman C. Pahde, and Clifford M. Johnson, sang, accompanied by Bonita (Mrs. Henry W.) Hagedorn, organist.
Pallbearers were Herman Lamp, Hubert Lamp, Joe Hugeback, Emil Dammann, Julius Musfeldt, George Wittrock.
Mr. Brus was born in Scott county, Iowa, near Davenport, September 25, 1878. He lived in Crawford County for a number of years before coming to Carroll County February 14, 1913. Until three months ago, when he retired and purchased a home in Manning, he had been engaged in farming.
He was married to Margaret Ehrichs at Aspinwall, September 29, 1909.
Survivors include his wife, one son, LeRoy Brus, Manning; three daughters, Mrs. M.J. McMahon (Rosella), Davenport; Mrs. Harold Nielsen (Ann), Audubon, and Mrs. Ludwig Seidl (Florence), Dedham; three brothers, Henry, Manilla, and John and Charles; Manning; two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Jensen, Bloomfield, Nebraska, and Mrs. Alfred Ehrichs (Clara), Manning, and 10 grandchildren.
A brother, Otto, and a sister, Ella, preceded him in death.
