Mrs. Ida Grube

Died at home August 23, 1947. Buried in Manning Cemetery. Born Ida Kusel, May 7, 1856 at Davenport, Iowa 91 years old. Married October 24, 1874 to Henry Grube in Denison, Iowa, Lived in Manning since 1882, when town was founded. Henry died February 9, 1893. Survived by daughter, Mrs. Maggie Grelck (adopted); grandson, Henry; great-granddaughter, Betty Grimm. Preceded in death by parents, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.


Mrs. Grube Succumbs at 91 at Manning
Mrs. Ida Grube, who was 91 years old in May, died at her home here last night.
The body is at the Ohde Funeral home, awaiting completion of arrangements.

Mrs. Grube, whose maiden name was Ida Kusel, was born May 7, 1856, at Davenport, Iowa. Her marriage to Henry Grube took place October 24, 1874, at Denison. In the same month, the couple came to Carroll county to make their home.
Mrs. Grube had lived in Manning since the town was founded in 1881. Her husband died February 9, 1893.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Maggie Grelck, a grandson, Henry Grelck, and great-granddaughter, Mrs. Clausie Grimm, all of Manning.

Mrs. Grube was a member of the Daily Times Herald Three Quarter Century club.


MRS. IDA GRUBE
Mrs. Ida Grube, of 206 Center Street, Manning, has lived in Manning since the town was started in 1882. She was born May 7, 1856, at Davenport, Scott County, Iowa, daughter of Friedrich and Catharina (Meinecke) Kusel, of German parentage.

On October 24, 1874, she married Henry Grube at Denison. On October 24, 1874, they moved to Manning from, Crawford County.

Mr. Grube died February 9, 1893.

Mrs. Grube's only child, Mrs. Maggie Grelck, lives at Manning.

There were two children in Mrs. Grube's parents' family and she is the only survivor.


Ida Grube is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
