Ira Heffelfinger
September 28, 1882
Manning Monitor

Died, on Friday evening last, September 22, 1882, after two weeks of intense suffering with typhoid pneumonia, little Ira Heffelfinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. U.S. Heffelfinger. He was five years old September 3, 1882. On Saturday morning the parents started with the remains to Stuart, Iowa, where they formerly resided and still have many friends, and where on Sabbath the funeral services were held. The sympathy of many friends in Manning are extended to the bereft parents in their affliction. In connection with this notice Mr. and Heffelfinger desire to express their thanks, to friends who aided and comforted them in the hour of distress, and especially to Dr. G.M. Barber, whose watchful care and skillful attention, though unavailing, were constantly rendered, and all was done that could be to save the life of their boy.
