Iva Harding
August 30, 1883
Manning Monitor

Died, Friday, August 24 at 10 p.m. Iva May, the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I.W. Harding. Only last week we were called upon to record the death of their little boy, and while he yet lay in his coffin the only remaining child of these stricken parents was seized with a violent attack of scarlet fever which carried her off in a few short days and she was laid to rest beside her brother in the Elba Cemetery (located just east of Templeton) on Saturday. Lonely and bereft, the poor heart-sore parents find no comfort without their little ones. Iva was their pride and consolation, strong and healthful and gave promise of joy and happiness to herself and her father and mother. Gone from them in a day, their home is desolate.
