John H.J. Hansen, 80, of Manning, died Sunday morning, January 2, 1972, at the Manning Plaza nursing home, where he had resided for about two years.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Edward F. Heinicke, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate; burial will be in the Manning Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews: Lyle Hansen, Herbert Hansen, Alvan Hansen, Alfred Ahrendsen, Herbert Bruhn, and George Bruhn.

Mr. Hansen was born December 30, 1891, in Crawford County, a son of Jurgen and Anna (Meyer) Hansen. He attended rural schools and farmed near Manning. He had been in failing health for the last two and one-half years.

Survivors include two brothers and a sister, Henry J.M. Hansen, Hugo R.C. Hansen and Mrs. Wilhelmina Bruhn, all of Manning; nieces and nephews. Another brother, Herbert, preceded him in death in 1920.
