James Guy
August 22, 1889
Manning Monitor

Died, August 17, 1889, at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. S. Bingham, James Guy, son of O.E. McWilliams, aged two months and eighteen days.

God has taken little Guy;
He has taken him above,
And we hope some day to see him
See our darling little love.
He has gone only before us,
To wear the starry crown,
In that home in glory,
Where the sun shall ne'er go down.
Though our tears in sorrow fall,
And our loss we deeply feel,
We can put our trust in God.
He will all our sorrows heal.
Rest on Guy in thy
Low and narrow bed;
Rest on thy Savior's breast,
Though we call thee, dead.
Then let us weep not for the loved one,
So quickly from us taken.
Twas but a flower too good for earth
Transplanted into heaven.
