Jeffery Robert Bauer, PhD, passed away March 6, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Manning, Iowa, to Chris and Maxine (nee Kuhl) Bauer, Jeff arrived on February 10, 1941.

Jeff was proud of his education. He started his schooling in California, and finished his PhD in education in Florida. Having a fondness for technology, Jeff bought all the new gadgets. This included an induction stove, which his wife Carolyn is still trying to figure out! Traveling brought much joy to Jeff. Europe was always his favorite destination. He was given the nick name of St. Francis, because he had love for animals. If there was an animal in need he would come to the rescue. He was an intellectual with a big heart. To say he was a great man is an understatement. He was always helping where he could.

Sixteen years ago, Jeff married the love of his life, Carolyn, in Reno, Nevada.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, children Carey (Adrian) Brown, Courtney (Rodney) Wilson, Bobby (Isabel) Kennedy, Jr., Sarah (Justin) Laughlin, and Sierra Bauer, grandchildren Evan Brown, Ryan Brown, Jaden Shaw, Keenan Shaw, Jonathan Kennedy, Jayne Laughlin, and Derek Laughlin.
