Jennie Wunderlich was born February 28, 1891, in Carroll County, Iowa, near Manning.

She moved with her parents to a farm in Woodbury County, Iowa, near Holly Springs at the age of 9. Her father was killed by lightning when she was 13 and at the age of 15, she and her mother moved to Norton, Kansas. They returned to Iowa after two years and settled in Sioux City.

Jennie graduated from Morningside Academy, attended Morningside College for one year and taught in the rural schools in the area for four years.

Mrs. Brokaw married Lowell B. Brokaw on November 10, 1915, at Sioux City. The couple farmed in Crawford County, Iowa, near Manilla for seven years and then moved to Sioux City where Mr. Brokaw was a salesman. They moved to Sioux Falls where he managed a hatchery. Mr. Brokaw passed away February 2, 1961.

Mrs. Brokaw was a member of Riverside United Presbyterian Church and of Sioux Falls Chapter No. 1, of American War Mothers.

Her survivors include three sons, John Brokaw, El Paso, Texas, Jul Brokaw, Red Wing, Minnesota, and James Brokaw, Sioux Falls; four daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Janet) Iverson, Sioux Falls, Mrs. Merrill (June) Ring, Sioux Falls, Mrs. Russell (Joyce) Blood, Grandview, Missouri, and Mrs. William (Joan) Kugler, Denver, Colorado; 19 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

The family extends an invitation to join them at church for refreshments and fellowship folio committal service.
