MRS. JESSIE KUHL
Mrs. Jessie Helene Kuhl, 82, of Manning died late Tuesday night, October 20, 1973, at the Manning Plaza. She had been at the nursing home since suffering a stroke in July.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church here, with burial in Manning Cemetery. Pastor Edward F. Heinicke will officiate. Pallbearers will be nephews. Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

Mrs. Kuhl, daughter of Henry and Anna (Kelting) Rohr, was born at Manning December 13, 1890. After attending Manning schools she attended normal training school at Denison and Iowa State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught in rural schools near Manning and for one year in the Manning school system. She married Alfred Kuhl June 9, 1915, and they made their home in Manning. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Manning Woman's Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Luella) Roberts of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a son, Dr. Paul of Iowa City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Karl Rohr of Manning; and four sisters, Mrs. Alma Pahde of Manning, Mrs. Martha Fieseler of Iowa City, Mrs. Helene Schultz of Lytton and Mrs. Lucia Lund of Dow City.

Mrs. Kuhl was preceded in death by her husband on March 18, 1968; five sisters and a brother.
